We are seeking a skilled Progressive Care Nurse to join our team at St. Joseph Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare. In this role, you will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions who require close monitoring, intervention, and support to optimize their outcomes and facilitate their transition to lower levels of care.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability.
- Utilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians, encompassing intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management medications, and cardiac medications.
- Perform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered by physicians, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy.
- Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety.
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Previous Acute Care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
