With nearly 75 years of experience and a dedicated team of over 450 professionals in multiple offices, we pride ourselves on being a leading independent engineering firm in the nation.
We are currently seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer for our office in Boston, MA, in a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical design and development of HVAC systems for large-scale and intricate projects, particularly within the Commercial Interiors sector.
- Mentor and guide junior HVAC engineers throughout project lifecycles.
- Establish design criteria, conduct calculations, and create concept designs, specifications, and construction documents for high-performance building systems.
- Manage the technical development process across all design phases, ensuring compliance with company standards and engineering best practices.
- Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, and inspection reports as required for assigned projects.
- Engage in the resolution of design challenges, which may involve field investigations or inspections.
- Possess knowledge and experience in mechanical calculations, equipment selection, ductwork design, hydronic systems, and construction documentation.
- Utilize Revit to provide leadership and direction to design teams.
- Conduct site visits, generate visit reports, and liaise with contractors as necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing HVAC systems for high-performance facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience leading HVAC teams on technically demanding projects.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Experience in commercial or hospitality sectors is advantageous.
- Commitment to sustainability; LEED accreditation is a plus.
- A professional Engineering license is highly preferred.
