Junior Optometric Technician

Position Overview:
As a Junior Optometric Technician, you will collaborate closely with our optometrists to ensure a seamless patient experience. Your role will encompass various aspects of patient care, including pre-testing and post-exam responsibilities, while maintaining the doctor's appointment schedule efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct preliminary interviews with patients to gather medical history and reasons for their visit, ensuring effective communication with the optometrist.
2. Guide patients on their prescribed medical care and schedule follow-up appointments as necessary.
3. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with company policies and regulations, including HIPAA standards.
4. Address patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments, referring complex issues to the optometrist when needed.
5. Identify patients eligible for specific testing based on established care standards.
6. Accurately code procedures for billing and payment collection.
7. Participate in practice meetings and projects as requested.

Operational Efficiency:
Ensure optimal utilization of the optometrist's time through proactive appointment confirmations and patient outreach initiatives. This includes:
- Following up with patients who missed appointments to reschedule.
- Collaborating with management on patient recall efforts.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Windows, and word processing software is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care is highly beneficial.

Physical Requirements:
This role necessitates effective communication skills, the ability to operate necessary equipment, and mobility within the office environment.
