Responsibilities- Provide professional surgical nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Assist in emergency procedures, as well as elective and scheduled cases, ensuring the best possible care for patients.
- Work closely with surgical teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families, providing emotional support and guidance.
- Organize and maintain a sterile operating room environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Perform count procedures to prevent retained foreign objects and ensure accurate patient care.
- Administer medications as ordered by physicians, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Involve patients or designated support persons in decisions affecting their post-operative plan of care and rehabilitation process.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Degree or higher.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience.
