Job Summary:

Charm City Therapy is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in a clinical setting. As a Clinic-Based Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to children. Your role will involve evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized therapy programs to help children develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities and reach developmental milestones.

Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate children's motor, sensory, cognitive, and emotional development. Use standardized assessments and clinical observations to identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and caregivers to gather relevant information about the child's medical history, developmental milestones, and current functional abilities.

Treatment Planning and Implementation:
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with the child's family and other healthcare professionals. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address areas of need, such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care skills, and social interaction. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, including play-based activities, sensory integration therapy, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications. Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.

Family and Caregiver Education:
Educate parents, caregivers, and family members about the child's condition, therapy goals, and home exercises or activities to support therapy progress. Provide guidance and support to help families integrate therapeutic strategies into the child's daily routine and environment.

Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, speech therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and educators, to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to treatment. Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, caregivers, and other relevant stakeholders to promote continuity of care and achieve therapeutic goals.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with legal and professional standards. Generate reports and communicate assessment findings, progress, and recommendations to referring physicians, schools, and other healthcare providers as needed.

Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist. Specialization or experience in pediatric occupational therapy preferred. Strong knowledge of child development, sensory processing, motor skills, and therapeutic interventions for pediatric populations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with children and their families. Ability to adapt interventions to meet the unique needs and preferences of each child and family. Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
