Clinical Responsibilities:- Demonstrates proficiency in caring for a specific patient demographic; independently practices with comprehensive knowledge and clinical expertise.
- Acts as a clinical resource for colleagues.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into daily care.
- Effectively performs in specialized roles as required by the unit.
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate and advocate for patient and family needs.
- Models best practices to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
- Engages in ongoing professional development and education.
- Maintains necessary competencies for the specific patient care environment.
- Participates in unit-based staff development initiatives.
- Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new nurses and students.
- Contributes to the development and evaluation of orientation and educational programs.
- Supports the skill development of nursing support personnel.
- Completes continuing education requirements annually.
- Understands and contributes to outcomes related to national quality measures.
- Participates in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Delivers high-quality, patient-centered care focused on exceeding expectations.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and participates in safety initiatives.
- Demonstrates the ability to take on charge nurse responsibilities.
- Engages in team-building activities within the unit.
- Participates in staff meetings and contributes to unit governance.
- Involved in recruitment and retention efforts at the unit level.
- Provides constructive feedback during peer reviews as needed.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or eligibility through compact state agreements.
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience.
- Meets all applicable federal, state, and local professional requirements for registered nursing.
