Electrical Engineer II Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our team at The Doe Run Company. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play a critical role in planning, maintaining, and coordinating electrical maintenance, upgrades, new installs, and day-to-day jobs.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment to regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with government and environmental safety standards.
  • Complete electrical maintenance planning, budgeting, and upgrades for preventative maintenance, as well as reactive maintenance by identifying root cause failure analysis and implementing measures to prevent future issues.
  • Supervise electricians and instrumentation techs on day-to-day activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Serve as a project manager, overseeing detail scope of work, providing specifications, planning, coordinating, budgeting, and hiring outside contractors if necessary.
  • Conduct safety audits, walk around the site to check on issues and corrections, and monitor systems installed.
  • Review current electrical drawings and schematics, documenting changes, additions, or deletions, and ensuring documentation supports the equipment with technical drawings, plans, schematics, and procedures.
  • Design new and replacement control systems by evaluating appropriate electrical system upgrades.
  • Manage work orders, project management sheets, ordered parts, and various paperwork, reports, and forms.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS policies, procedures, and best practices, supporting and assisting peers in working in a safe, compliant manner, reporting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations, and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years hands-on experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience working with electrical control systems.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
