About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quarry Foreman to join our team at Hazleton Quarry, a division of The H&K Group, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of materials in the quarry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Directly supervise all quarry employees
  • Train and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure efficient production and high-quality products
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching to employees to improve their performance
  • Recognize and reward employees for their contributions and achievements
  • Address complaints and problems in a fair and timely manner
  • Create a safe and healthy work environment
  • Read and interpret blueprints and related documents as needed
  • Record daily events in a job diary
  • Schedule materials, equipment, and work for crew
  • Analyze crew SIP's to create site SIP's
  • Obtain quantities from crews and prepare for billing process with PM
  • Analyze cost reports for production adjustments
  • Accurately code and control onsite costs
  • Conduct site meetings
  • Attend E&S and Job Turnover meetings
  • Communicate goals and purpose effectively
  • Demonstrate by example
  • Influence and enforce company values
  • Recognize misalignments with company values and culture and ensure compliance
  • Understand and anticipate customers' needs
  • Communicate with customer representatives and represent the company professionally
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associate degree from an accredited educational institution OR 5 years of related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Able to read blueprints and job-related documents
  • Understand business practices within the organization and the importance of repeat business
  • Basic technology skills including internet, email, and digital photo documentation
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Safety-focused
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with heavy equipment used in quarries
  • Experience working in quarries
  • MSHA or other safety certifications
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced quarry environment, regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.
