Substance Abuse Counselor III

Amity Foundation is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Substance Abuse Counselor III. This role involves delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services to participants in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP).

About the Position:

• Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
• Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum.
• Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules and expectation for participation and completion.
• Works directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educate participants about supportive networks as they return to the community.
• Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, records visible changes in appearance, behavior and demeanor of program participants.
• Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential participant records.
• Completes all delivery documentation requirements.
• Liaise with transition/reentry staff, plans and prepares transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities.
• May mentor Counselor I and II Level AOD Counselors/OMCP Mentors.
• Works collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS and institution staff.
• Supports and collaborates co-faculty, including but not limited to Supervisors, Directors and Regional Directors.
• Participate in monthly, block, cross-training, curriculum training, technical assistance training, or other training as appropriate.

Requirements:

• A Master's Degree in a social service-related field; and Licensed by, or registered with, the Board of Behavioral Sciences; or Registered with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS; OR
• A Bachelor's Degree in a social service-related field, AOD certified, and six (6) months of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor; OR
• An Associate's Degree in social service-related field, AOD certified, and one (1) year of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor; OR
• AOD certified and more than two (2) years of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor.
