Unit Overview: The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) offers a vibrant and fast-paced atmosphere where a dedicated team prioritizes exceptional patient care, collaboration, and a culture of respect. Our nursing staff is committed to delivering compassionate and knowledgeable care while fostering a supportive and positive work environment.
Patient Care Focus: The IMCU consists of 20 private patient rooms designed to provide transitional care for patients who are stable yet require ongoing support and monitoring. Our diverse patient population includes individuals with various medical conditions such as respiratory issues, chronic heart failure, sepsis, and more.
Key Features of Our Unit:
- Private patient care rooms for enhanced comfort.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3/4 for both day and night shifts.
- Assignments tailored to patient acuity and staff expertise.
- A collaborative management team including clinical directors and educators for ongoing training and support.

Work Schedule: This position is full-time, requiring night shifts (3 – 12 hour shifts).
Sign-On and Relocation Bonuses: Eligible candidates may receive a competitive sign-on bonus up to $20,000, with relocation assistance available for those moving significant distances.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care environment.
- Education: BSN from an accredited nursing program; RNs with an ADN must complete their BSN within 5 years of hire.
- Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required, and ACLS is strongly preferred (to be obtained within the first 3 months).
- Licensure: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or have the privilege to practice under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a caring attitude towards patients.
- Competent computer skills are necessary.
