Senior Technical Engineer for MDA Engineering Management

Role Summary

As a Senior Technical Engineer for MDA Engineering Management, you will deliver critical engineering support to the MDA's Director for Engineering (MDA/DE) Engineering Management (MDA/DER). MDA/DER encompasses all functions necessary to oversee the MDA engineering framework, including infrastructure and program oversight; technical evaluations for personnel and operational activities; financial strategy; and the formulation and coordination of MDA/DE policies and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer expert engineering guidance to government clients regarding the management of engineering personnel, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and recognition.
  • Provide engineering support for MDA/DE and associated contracts, task orders, and inter-agency collaborations.
  • Conduct annual assessments of the engineering workforce to identify labor category and skill set needs.
  • Execute gap analyses and present findings.
  • Suggest resource reallocation, educational initiatives, and strategic plans to address deficiencies in engineering functions and processes.
  • Assist with internal controls and asset management.
  • Prepare, review, and present mandatory Inter/Intra-Agency Acquisition Review (IAR), Manager's Internal Controls Program (MICP), and property accountability briefings, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Engage in formal tasking and staffing processes as an action officer, managing staffing process controls to meet deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with US government budgeting and the Program Objective Memorandum process.
  • Proficient in managing large databases and extensive spreadsheets.
  • Experience in developing and delivering complex engineering programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work autonomously, as part of a team, or in a leadership capacity, applying engineering principles to resolve technical challenges. Comprehensive practical and theoretical engineering knowledge. Familiarity with missile defense system components and their missions. Understanding of DoD and MDA protocols. Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with various organizations and leadership. Proficient in Microsoft software applications. Ability to execute tasks independently and travel as needed.
