Job Summary:

Nesco Resource is partnering with a prestigious aerospace company to find an experienced Machinist. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity to work in a dynamic machine shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate Machine Shop Tools: Set up and operate various machine shop tools, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders, to produce precision parts and tools from drawings and specifications.
  2. Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret complex blueprints, using shop mathematics to ensure accurate production.
  3. Work to Close Tolerances: Work to extremely close tolerances using all types of machine shop tools and equipment.
  4. Determine Machine Operations: Determine the types of machines and sequence of operations to be used in each production process.
  5. Grind and Select Tools: Select proper cutting tools for each operation and grind them as needed.
  6. Measure and Inspect Work: Use precision measuring instruments to check work and obtain desired tolerances.
  7. Lead and Collaborate: May act as a lead person in assigning work and monitoring department operations in the absence of the Machine Shop Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in general machine shop work with a thorough knowledge of machine practice, tooling, and set-ups
  • Skills: Haas, Bridgeport CNC machinery experience, Edgecam software, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency
