Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dialysis Technician to join our team at SCI Laurel Highlands. As a Dialysis Technician, you will be responsible for performing and monitoring dialysis treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will work closely with our healthcare team to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and monitor dialysis treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings
  • Administer oxygen as necessary and participate in CPR as needed
  • Prepare and maintain dialysis logs and set-ups for each shift
  • Stock and order necessary blood work supplies
  • Participate in the IDT and QAPI committee and attend meetings as needed
  • Identify and report concerns, issues, and opportunities for improvement
Requirements
  • Nationally recognized Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician certification (CCHT) or equivalent
  • Current CPR certification
  • One year of recent clinical dialysis experience required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and satisfactorily communicate in English
  • Strong technical/computer proficiency with laptops, tablets, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc.

Work Environment

This role exists in a hospital or in the medical unit of a post-acute or correctional facility. This role may include exposure to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens. This role routinely involves the use of both medical and standard office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
