Overview

The IT Financial Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in the execution, oversight, and enhancement of financial processes within the Technology Business Management framework. This position will support all fiscal activities related to actual expenditures, billing, month-end reconciliations, forecasting, and vendor management initiatives aimed at optimizing the contributions of external partners to the Technology Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and oversee all financial management activities, including but not limited to invoices, accruals, purchase orders, planning, month-end reconciliations, and forecasting.
  • Manage vendor relationships through processes such as vendor intake, evaluations, scorecards, contract renewals, and communications.
  • Drive improvements in organizational processes, tools, and governance across the technology team, focusing on standardizing and streamlining financial management, vendor management, contract management, and asset management operations.
  • Administer and maintain all financial management tools, including the IT Cost Model Application and related ERP Financial modules, ensuring accurate data integration from systems of record.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and vendor management processes by monitoring service level agreements (SLAs), providing training to new cost center owners, and guiding stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with technology team stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, develop business cases, and present proposals for enhancing the capabilities of the Technology Business Management team.
  • Generate and maintain IT cost transparency reports for various leadership levels, facilitating informed decision-making through regular operational reviews.
  • Assist in the development of IT governance, policy, and data strategies that support Technology Business Management capabilities, aligning with overall technology leadership strategies.

Additional Duties

  • Support onboarding processes for contractors and assist employees as necessary.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities within IT Financial Management, Vendor Management, and related Technology Business Management areas as identified by technology leadership.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of fundamental financial concepts and principles such as Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Return on Investment.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of driving innovative solutions independently.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in multitasking and time management.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel (including Pivot tables and Macros), PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Intermediate understanding of IT infrastructure domains, including data centers, networks, server utilization, and application development.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial management processes and best practices, including budgeting and cost allocations.
  • Experience with data analysis and IT planning.
  • Technology Business Management Certification is a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Information Technology Planning, PMO, or Portfolio functions.

Compensation

Salary is determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience. The salary for this position ranges from $75,000.00 to $85,000.
