Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional activities for individual students.
  • Communicate and coordinate with participants of the Eligibility and Planning Committee.
  • Work under the supervision and direction of the principal.

Typical Duties:

  • Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate Individual Education Plans for assigned students.
  • Participate in eligibility and planning meetings.
  • Provide a learning environment that respects individual differences and promotes dignity and worth.
  • Coordinate mainstreaming processes.
  • Work cooperatively with the school staff to promote effective student learning experiences.
  • Maintain functional learning environments.
  • Comply with California Code of Education, Title V, and Rocklin Unified School District policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports required by the district, county, and state.
  • Perform educational assessments.

Employment Standards:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service in special education.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience at various grade levels and with learning disabled students.
  • Master's Degree and/or postgraduate coursework.

Description of Physical Requirements:

  • Medical Category I.
  • Normal physical strength and endurance for standing, sitting, bending, or walking.
  • Work assignments are normally located in a work environment with light physical work and require light physical effort.
  • Lifting 25 pounds maximum or carrying any object weighing over 15 pounds.
