About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Transparency Engineer to join our team at Kohler Co. This role will play a critical part in supporting our sustainability mission by leading, supporting, and communicating the product material health and transparency of our Kitchen & Bath (K&B) products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create Life Cycle Inventories (LCIs): Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive LCIs for our K&B products, utilizing in-house data and external datasets to model their environmental impact.
  • Environment Product Declarations (EPDs): Create and update EPDs for our K&B products, ensuring compliance with customer demands and our sustainability strategy.
  • Declare Labels: Collaborate with the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) to draft and manage Declare labels for our K&B products, ensuring timely updates on our Transparency website.
  • Transparency Communication: Develop and improve tools and channels to effectively communicate product transparency, enhancing value for both Kohler and our customers.
  • Marketing Support: Work closely with our Marketing & Communications team to update transparency labels on our website, FAQs, and marketing materials.
  • Customer Support: Respond to customer requests for special forms, large projects, and review sales force requests, transferring information into our tracker spreadsheet.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate with the team regarding customer requests, providing high-level knowledge of our capabilities.
  • Sustainability Advocacy: Advocate for sustainability as an innovation and product/brand value tool through direct interaction with channels, digital marketing, training, and support of Kohler sustainability communications efforts.
  • Membership and Licensing: Update memberships/licenses and contracts related to Product Transparency on a timely basis.
  • Training and Development: Create, implement, and record training for sales teams and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, materials, chemical, or mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Experience with product transparency document generation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Product Category Rules (PCR), Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), and other relevant sustainability standards.
