Role Summary

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington Virginia, Inc is hiring an Animal Care Technician to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare of our animals and providing exceptional customer service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Animal Well-being: Perform routine animal care tasks, including feeding, monitoring health, and administering medications.
  • Facility Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shelter, and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Customer Support: Engage with customers, answer questions, and facilitate adoptions.
Qualifications
  • Availability: Flexible scheduling, including weekends.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: Ability to multitask, strong communication skills, and basic computer knowledge.
Work Environment

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. You must be comfortable around animals and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Estimated Salary: $18.75 - $22.50 per hour, based on experience and location.
