Critical Care Ground Transport Paramedic

The Critical Care Ground Transport Paramedic is a key member of the UF Health team, responsible for providing high-level medical care to patients during ground transport. This role requires a strong foundation in emergency medical services, critical care, and patient assessment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and triage patients during transport, utilizing medical protocols and advanced skills under the direction of the medical director.
- Provide comprehensive care to patients, including treatment and evaluation, and document all processes on the patient record.
- Function as a resource for other team members, sharing skills and clinical knowledge to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, peers, families, and other internal/external personnel in a high-stress environment.
- Participate in community outreach and education initiatives, utilizing excellent interpersonal skills to promote UF Health's mission and goals.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned drivers, ensuring a safe and efficient transport experience.
- Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida.
- Specialty certifications required upon hire: BLS, ACLS, PALS. ITLS or PHTLS preferred at time of hire; required within one year of employment in the job.
- 2 years pre-hospital Paramedic experience required. Demonstrated clinical skills in pre-hospital and critical care transport preferred.
- CCEMT-P, UFCCP, or FP-C, and NRP preferred and required within one year of employment.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and certification of completion of a Florida approved EVOC driving course.
Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'frequent driver'. A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or UF Health automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
