Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with communication disorders, including speech, language, and hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans to improve their communication skills.
  • Administer therapy treatments, including speech and language therapy, to patients with communication disorders.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary consultations to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement programs to support patients with communication disorders in their homes and communities.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State.
  • Current Clinical Competence - SPL (ASHA) Certification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in speech-language pathology, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
