We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the J.D. McCarty Center. As a Pediatric Rehabilitation Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to children with developmental disabilities. Your expertise will be essential in creating and managing nursing care plans, assessing patients, and communicating with families and medical teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, maintaining nursing standards and supporting patients with various medical needs.
- Assess patients and develop care plans to ensure quality of care, communicating with patients, families, and medical teams to achieve desired goals.
- Participate in the initiation, modification, and implementation of patient care plans, receiving reports from licensed nursing staff and completing patient charts using the PIE format and EHR system.
- Develop optimal relationships by providing supervision, support, and assistance to Direct Care staff, communicating medical information to the treatment team, and promoting team efforts to improve continuity of patient care.
- Conduct administrative duties, attending medical conferences and courses for ongoing education and assisting Nursing Administration with data collection for Quality Assurance Performance Improvement.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a license to practice nursing in the state of Oklahoma.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- One-year probationary period.
- Good standing with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
- Ability to pass COVID screener and participate in periodic COVID testing and protocols.
The J.D. McCarty Center is a pediatric rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities, providing a unique 36-bed hospital experience. Our 80-acre campus includes an on-site elementary, intermediate, and high school, staffed by Norman Public School teachers. Patients may continue treatment needs beyond the 30-day evaluation as an in-patient in habilitation status based on progress or placement needs.
