Job Summary

The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging machines in a clinical setting, creating diagnostic images of patients according to physician orders, and assisting patients in preparation for scans while ensuring the highest level of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform MRI procedures in a clinical setting.
  • Provide timely and effective patient education and preparation.
  • Obtain consent form signatures when applicable.
  • Monitor daily quality assurance and ensure equipment is operated according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness of the unit in accordance with Infection Control Techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other professionals to enable timely image review and release of patient information.
  • Maintain and update quality control records, patient log books, and other reports.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Education - Satisfactory completion of an approved Radiology Technology Program.
  • Certification/s - MR Certification Required.
  • Minimum one year's experience working in an MRI environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry or move heavy objects approximately 50 lb.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to utilize tools, utensils, equipment, etc.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, or stoop to complete job responsibilities at very low or floor levels.
  • Ability to visually perceive depth, distance, read material, and view documents with or without corrective lenses.
  • Ability to hear inquiries from patients, physicians, clients, and staff.
  • Interpersonal skills must be well-developed.
  • BLS/CPR required or post-hire of 6 months.
