As a Cardiovascular Sonographer at St. Mary's Health Network, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. This position requires a strong foundation in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
• Uses ultrasound technology to visualize internal cardiac structures and obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricles, and atria.
• Evaluates hemodynamics of cardiac structures and performs vascular ultrasound procedures, including upper and lower venous duplex, upper and lower extremity arterial duplex, and physiological and extracranial studies.
• Assists physicians with complex ultrasound procedures and completes required information on PACS.
• Promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Cardiovascular Ultrasound Department through the appropriate utilization and management of clerical functions, including document handling and disposition, interpersonal relationships, and information gathering and dispersion.
Qualifications:
• Completion of an accredited echocardiography or vascular ultrasound program required.
• Associates degree in ultrasound preferred.
• Previous experience in performing echocardiograms of all ages preferred, especially hospital-based experience.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ARDMS (RDCS, adult or pediatric echo or RVT) or CCI (RCS or RVS) registry required, with a second registry required within 12 months.
• Proficient computer skills.
