Job Summary:

OptumCare is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality radiologic diagnosis for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation checklist.
  • Receive and review requests for radiologic studies.
  • Assess patient condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
  • Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other individuals.
  • Operate complex radiographic equipment, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs.
  • Explain and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Interview patients and review clinical data to alert nurses and physicians to possible contraindications.
  • Maintain radiographic equipment and x-ray room in proper working condition.
  • Maintain radiology supplies inventory.
  • Follow hospital exposure control plans and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
  • Ability to position patients for maximum diagnostic yield.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
