Job Summary:

The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all members and program participants while fostering a positive and engaging experience at the YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF SUMTER. This role will prioritize pool operation, maintenance, programming, and staff support under the direction of the Aquatics Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Prioritize the safety of all members and program participants
Foster a positive and engaging experience at the Y
Assist with pool operation and maintenance
Develop and implement aquatic programs
Provide staff support and training

Requirements:

21 years of age with Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
At least 2 years supervisory/management experience
Enthusiastic personality, mature, decisive, and responsible
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and relate effectively to diverse groups
Familiarity with YMCA movement and trends in the aquatic field

Working Conditions:

This position will work up to 40 hours per week, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The starting salary is $14.00 per hour.
