Nursing Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Supervisor to join our team at LCS. As a Nursing Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall supervision of nursing care in our Health Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise direct nursing care in the Health Center.
  • Administer direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
  • Makes routine rounds to assure proper care of a safe, clean resident environment.
  • Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans and conference in the absence of the MDS nurse (if certified)
  • Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Assists with orientation of nursing personnel.
  • Participates in family/resident counseling.
  • Responds to emergency calls as necessary.
  • Functions in the capacity as supervisor during working shift. Communicates with DON.
  • Some "on call" may be required.
Requirements:
  • Florida State Licensed Registered Nurse License and CPR Certification.
  • Geriatric/rehabilitation experience with a good understanding of restorative nursing.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must pass an extensive criminal check and drug screen.
