Geotechnical Engineer

AP Engineering & Consulting, Inc. (APEC) is seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded Geotechnical Engineer to join our Indianapolis-based office. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our geotechnical department personnel, including construction inspection and testing staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Manage projects covering all aspects of geotechnical engineering
- Provide guidance and training for staff on work-related to geotechnical engineering projects
- Assist and collaborate with all aspects of staff management, both in the office and in the field
- Manage, train, and mentor younger staff
- Technical document and proposal preparation and review
- Contribute to the development of organization standard operating procedures, specifications, and guidelines
- Travel to and work performed at various job site locations throughout the region
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering)
- Related professional experience in geotechnical engineering
- Professional Engineer License (P.E.)
- Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Familiarization with various AASHTO and ASTM Standards
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, soil logging, or other engineering programs
- Willingness to collaborate with other technical staff
