Geotechnical Engineer

AP Engineering & Consulting, Inc. (APEC) is seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded Geotechnical Engineer to join our Indianapolis-based office. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our geotechnical department personnel, including construction inspection and testing staff.

• Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Manage projects covering all aspects of geotechnical engineering
• Provide guidance and training for staff on work-related to geotechnical engineering projects
• Assist and collaborate with all aspects of staff management, both in the office and in the field
• Manage, train, and mentor younger staff
• Technical document and proposal preparation and review
• Contribute to the development of organization standard operating procedures, specifications, and guidelines
• Travel to and work performed at various job site locations throughout the region

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering)
• Related professional experience in geotechnical engineering
• Professional Engineer License (P.E.)
• Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Familiarization with various AASHTO and ASTM Standards
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, soil logging, or other engineering programs
• Willingness to collaborate with other technical staff
