Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Lead to join our Clinical Resource Management team at Children's National Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the CRM department, including staffing and assignments, and will play a key role in directing the activities of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Provide 24-hour accountability for planning, managing, and evaluating department functions.
    • Guide, supervise, and elevate the quality of practice for utilization review within Children's National.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve departmental performance and efficiency.
  • Staff Education and Development
    • Facilitate learning opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    • Participate in the education and training of Case Managers and other staff.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Demonstrate advanced communication skills in dealing with staff and all members of the healthcare team.
    • Provide constructive, sensitive, and timely feedback to staff concerning their performance.
    • Effectively manage conflict and assist others to understand their behavior and its effect on the work environment.
  • Performance Improvement and Problem-Solving
    • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to change.
    • Identify opportunities to improve clinical and administrative processes.
    • Make appropriate decisions using sound judgment.

    • Partner in the mission and uphold the core principles of Children's National Medical Center.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • 5 years Nursing experience (Required)
  • 1 year Pediatric experience in a comparable setting (Required)
  • 1 year Demonstrated nursing leadership experience (Required)
  • Familiar with software such as Windows environment (Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in medical management criteria such as MCG and/or InterQual
  • Registered Nurse in District of Columbia
