Job Summary:
The Chaplain role at Novant Health is a vital position that focuses on enhancing the quality of life for patients and their caregivers. This position requires a unique blend of spiritual, emotional, and social support to meet the diverse needs of our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual care and support to patients and their families, addressing their emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care that addresses the whole person – body, mind, and spirit.
- Develop and implement programs to promote spiritual well-being and support the spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Engage with diverse faith communities and spiritual leaders to provide support and resources for patients and their families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the spiritual care experience for patients and their families.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Divinity or a related field, with ordination or equivalent.
- Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from a nationally accredited body.
- Minimum of two years of experience in pastoral care in a healthcare setting, with a focus on communication across disciplines.
- Eligibility for certification by a national certifying body, such as APC or CPSP.
- Board certification within three years of hire date.
