Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fixed asset detail records
  • Perform account analysis to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Assist the Director of Finance in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable control accounts to detail aging
  • Reconcile cash receipts and disbursements to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Perform monthly closing of sub-ledgers to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Input journal entries to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Assist accounts receivable and accounts payable clerks with coding of receipts and disbursements into the general ledger
  • Perform account analysis on other general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Perform other functions delegated by the accounting manager to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and audit box office ticket sales reports to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and audit parking sales to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain telephone deposits for events to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
Supervisory Responsibilities

The Senior Staff Accountant will have supervisory responsibility for daily task management of the accounting coordinator to implement strategic direction of the Director of Finance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
  • Some part-time or summer internship experience in a position with accounting responsibilities preferred
  • Or similar combination of education and experience
Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting
  • Excellent math skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management and clients
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software, and willingness to learn and use accounting and financial reporting software
