Job Details

Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Suppression Specialist to join our team. As a Fire Suppression Specialist, you will serve on an engine crew, hand crew, or tender, performing fire suppression and fuels management duties in the most adverse climate, fuel, and terrain conditions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wildland fire behavior and suppression techniques, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will work closely with our experienced team to ensure the safe and effective suppression of wildland fires.

Responsibilities
  • Perform fire suppression and fuels management duties on engine crews, hand crews, or tenders
  • Work in the Operations Section, serving on an engine crew, hand crew, or tender
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure safe and effective fire suppression
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance wildland fire suppression skills
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, including passing a Work Capacity Test (WCT)
Requirements
  • Introduction to ICS (ICS-100)
  • Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (L-180)
  • Firefighter Training (S-130 - Field Day Required)
  • Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (S-190)
  • NIMS: An Introduction (IS-700)
  • Wildland Fire Safety Training Annual Refresher (WFSTAR) (RT-130)
  • Ability to pass a WCT (Work Capacity Test/Pack Test) at Arduous Level
  • 21 years of age or older
  • DOT Medical Examiner's Certification
  • Current driver's license with acceptable driving record
