We are seeking a motivated and organized Environmental Conservation Professional to join our team in Tucson, AZ. This paid internship will provide valuable experience with one of the nation's most consequential environmental organizations.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will assist Center scientists in gaining protections for imperiled species. Responsibilities include researching and compiling information from scientific literature and government publications, composing technical documents to support federal protection, and coordinating tasks with Center staff to meet deadlines.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in conservation biology, environmental science, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Proficiency in common software like Word and Excel
- Passion for protecting biodiversity and knowledge of conservation biology concepts and terminology
Benefits and Working Conditions
This internship offers the opportunity to work remotely or in our office in Tucson. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. The position will last approximately 4-6 months and can be full- or part-time.
Salary
The estimated salary for this internship is $25,000 - $35,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
