Job Summary

Fords Garage is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host/Hostess to join our team. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring a positive first impression of our service.
  • Manage the efficient and timely seating of guests, answering phones, and handling reservations and Curbside To-Go orders.
  • Perform host stand set-up, opening duties, running side work, and closing duties.
  • Be the positive and uplifting first and last impression of our guests.
  • Answer the phone promptly with a smile and communicate with guests in an organized and professional manner.
  • Inspect restrooms and parking lot for cleanliness and maintain the cleanliness of the host area and guest waiting areas.
  • Attend all employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintain restaurant safety and sanitation and assist in table maintenance and bussing for prompt seating.
  • Alert Manager immediately if an intoxicated guest enters the restaurant.
  • Always be friendly and courteous on the telephone and in person.
  • Keep a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  • Handle guest concerns with courtesy and provide information to guests when requested.
  • Process guest retail sales and take to-go orders for guests and process payment.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of basic restaurant hospitality and a fully engaged, service-minded attitude.
  • Food Safety certification, as state law requires.
  • Good hearing for safety and accurate communication (with or without accommodation).
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Basic computer usage skills.
  • Must possess valid food safety certification or any other food/alcohol certification if required by state law.
  • Compliance with our dress and appearance policy, including black slip-resistant shoes.
  • Ability to pass general information and departmental tests (test score of 90% or higher).
