Speech Language Pathologist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in Fox River Grove, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Therapeutic Intervention: Provide direct speech and language therapy to students with communication disorders, using evidence-based practices to enhance their speech, language, and communication abilities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the curriculum and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- IEP Development: Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with speech and language needs, ensuring goals and objectives are tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Family Engagement: Communicate with parents and guardians to provide information about their child's progress and strategies for supporting speech and language development at home.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology, participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certification: Valid Illinois state license in Speech-Language Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred but not required, with experience working with students with a range of speech and language disorders being a plus.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and professionals, and proficiency in using assessment tools and developing individualized therapy plans.
