Job Summary

The Paramedic EMT Pediatric Emergency Department at Medical City Dallas is seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team. As a Paramedic EMT, you will provide direct patient care, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Your expertise will be invaluable in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs, including oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
  • Perform technical functions such as obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks, and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist with patient care and treatments, including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications.
  • Complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care.
  • Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes.
  • Clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required.
  • Provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
  • Paramedic (EMT-P), or Emergency Medical Paramedic (EMP) required.
  • 1 year of 911 System or Hospital ED Experience required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Supt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
