Responsibilities:
  • Teach and mentor students with disabilities in a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Provide accommodations and modifications to ensure equal access to education for students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive support system for students
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in special education to inform teaching and support strategies
Requirements:
  • Masters degree or equivalent in special education, education, or a related field
  • 15 semester units of upper division graduate study in the area of disability, including learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, deaf and hearing impaired, physical disabilities, or adapted computer technology
  • Experience working with students with disabilities and knowledge of special education laws and regulations
