None Purpose:

The Heavy Equipment Service Technician is responsible for executing fundamental diagnostics, maintenance, and repair tasks on both customer and dealer-owned heavy machinery, including agricultural and turf equipment.

This role may involve receiving guidance from the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts basic diagnostics and reports on heavy machinery and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
  • Engages in Service EDUCATE Training programs essential for skill and knowledge enhancement.
  • Stays updated on the latest John Deere and competitive machinery products.
  • Ensures the upkeep of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations while performing job duties.
  • Completes all necessary reports and documentation related to work assignments.
  • Accurately tracks time and materials utilized during assigned tasks.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in servicing heavy machinery.
  • Capability to execute both basic and advanced repairs, following Technical Manual Procedures.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to heavy machinery repair.
  • Proficient in using Service Advisor and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Basic Service Technician certification is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
