None Purpose:
The Heavy Equipment Service Technician is responsible for executing fundamental diagnostics, maintenance, and repair tasks on both customer and dealer-owned heavy machinery, including agricultural and turf equipment.
This role may involve receiving guidance from the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians.Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts basic diagnostics and reports on heavy machinery and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
- Engages in Service EDUCATE Training programs essential for skill and knowledge enhancement.
- Stays updated on the latest John Deere and competitive machinery products.
- Ensures the upkeep of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations while performing job duties.
- Completes all necessary reports and documentation related to work assignments.
- Accurately tracks time and materials utilized during assigned tasks.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in servicing heavy machinery.
- Capability to execute both basic and advanced repairs, following Technical Manual Procedures.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to heavy machinery repair.
- Proficient in using Service Advisor and basic computer applications.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Physical capability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
- Basic Service Technician certification is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
