Job Summary

The Milieu Specialist is a critical role in ensuring patient safety and well-being at Foundations for Living. This position is responsible for staff education and culture development, as well as planning and oversight of the Mental Health Technician (MHT) patient care role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of staff training programs to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and CNO to plan and oversee the MHT patient care role.
  • Develop and implement group programming for patients, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
  • Train and mentor MHTs in patient care techniques and mental health principles.
  • Ensure compliance with fidelity programs and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent required; Associates Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years of related security experience required, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness and hospital setting.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
  • Successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required upon hire.
