Job Summary

CentralCare Inc is seeking a highly skilled Neonatal ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. As a critical care nurse specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive professional neonatal care to critically ill neonatal patients in the NICU.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.
  • Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform critical care duties to include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-specific nursing care across all ages.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
  • Perform physical exam and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
  • Provide comprehensive professional neonatal care to critically ill neonatal patients in the NICU.
Requirements
  • A thorough knowledge of electronic fetal/uterine monitoring (placement, maintenance, and interpretation) is required.
  • At least one (1) year of qualifying experience in the specialty is required.
  • A current, valid, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) in any U.S. jurisdiction within the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands is required.
  • Contractor shall provide the COR prime source verification of the nursing license, documentation shall include state, license number, expiration date, method of verification, and names of verifying official.
  • A thorough knowledge of respiratory support devices such as oscillators, vents, iNO, CPAP, SIPAP, nasal cannula, and trach tubes is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of neonatal catheter care, IV fluids, blood, and blood products, and infusion pumps is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of basic infant care procedures, lifting, turning, transporting, and positioning, and providing personal hygiene care, changing linens, clothing, and feeds infants to include NG/OG, PO, G-tube feedings is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of breast feeding support and promotion is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of specialized equipment such as ventilator support oxygen delivery systems, drainage suction devices, hypothermic units, and infusion pumps is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of medication administration, including oral, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, intravenously, topically, etc., and knowing which drugs shall alter the effects of another drug if administered concurrently prior to the administration of medication is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A thorough knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and high-risk deliveries is preferred.
  • A thorough knowledge of the Neonatal Resuscitation Team and their roles and responsibilities is preferred.
