The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer, Mechanical R&D to join our team in Plano, TX. As a key member of our Neuromodulation Division, you will play a critical role in developing technology platforms that improve the lives of those suffering from chronic pain and movement disorders.

As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will have the opportunity to conceptualize new devices, develop innovative mechanical designs, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to bring products to market. You will also be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, balancing design for reliability, manufacturing, and cost efficiency, and maintaining detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.

What You'll Work On:

  • Developing mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes, and equipment
  • Conceptualizing new devices using material knowledge and innovative mechanical design
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners to develop and launch new products
  • Conducting feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality
  • Designing for reliability, manufacturing, and cost efficiency
  • Maintaining detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant product development or R&D work experience (preferably with implantable hardware)
  • Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures
  • Strong understanding of business unit function and cross-group dependencies/relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Experience with CAD and FEA modeling software (SolidWorks, ANSYS preferred)
  • Product development experience within a regulated environment (e.g. medical, aerospace, automotive, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
