Process Engineer - Blown Film Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer with expertise in blown film production to join our team at Plastic Executive Recruiters. As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing processing speeds, conditions, and scrap reduction, as well as working with suppliers to optimize polymer formulations for better performance or lower cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous improvement of processing speeds, conditions, and scrap reduction.
  • Optimizing new processes from design to product launch.
  • Working with suppliers to optimize polymer formulations for better performance or lower cost.
  • Successfully introducing new products, including heavy involvement in equipment, process SOP's, tooling, materials, and material development.
  • Responsible to thoroughly document process requirements and parameters to assure equipment and work cell team are capable of commercial production.
  • Implementation of SOP's (standard operating procedures) including standardized work, workplace organization, quality, and packaging specifications.
  • Coordinate all applicable product testing verification and ongoing validation to meet product specifications as well as comply with applicable local and governmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • A 4-year technical degree.
  • 5 years of blown film engineering experience, with strong knowledge of equipment, materials, and processing.
  • Experience managing development projects, improvement projects, tooling projects, etc.
  • Experience testing polymer materials and finished films to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Experience creating SOP's/WI's, SPC, and Continuous Improvement tools such as lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 6 sigma.
