Job Title: Archives Supervisor

Join the State of Louisiana team as an Archives Supervisor, where you will play a crucial role in preserving and managing the state's historical records.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Archives Supervisor to oversee the preservation and management of the state's historical records. As an Archives Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Archives Specialists, coordinating archival activities, and ensuring the long-term preservation of the state's historical records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of Archives Specialists in the performance of professional archival activities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the preservation and management of historical records.
  • Collaborate with state agencies and other stakeholders to ensure the preservation and accessibility of historical records.
  • Conduct research and provide historical verification to support the preservation and management of historical records.
  • Develop and implement disaster prevention and recovery plans for temporary and archival records.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in archives/records management administration or a related field.
  • Three years of professional-level experience in historical research, archival operations, records management, and records preservation.
  • Experience with software and equipment used in archival operations, such as Preservica, archive writers, microfilm scanners, and large-format scanners.
