Position Title: Travel-Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Compensation: $68 per hour
Shift Type: Night
Weekly Hours: Guaranteed 36 hours
Role Details:The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care in a medical/surgical setting. Key responsibilities include:
- Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing is essential.
- Availability for an immediate start.
- 12-hour night shifts with weekend, holiday, and on-call duties required.
- Comfortable floating between Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care Units.
- Must possess a current nursing license in New York.
- Experience in Coronary Care is necessary.
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred; first-time travelers will not be considered.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Prior hospital nursing experience is advantageous.
- BLS certification is mandatory or must be obtained within three months of hire.
- Strong understanding of nursing principles and the ability to deliver quality patient care.
- Ability to assess patient needs across various dimensions, including clinical and emotional.
- Recognize safety concerns for self and patients, and implement safe patient handling techniques.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
- Leadership capabilities with skills in prioritization and delegation.
- May be required to take on charge nurse responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
