Restaurant Supervisor Job Description

As a Restaurant Supervisor at Charter Senior Living, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage department. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily activities of the restaurant team, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and that our quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders, to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
  • Train new hires and provide ongoing training to existing staff members on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer interaction skills.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and optimize labor costs while meeting business demands.
  • Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service, handling guest inquiries or complaints promptly and professionally, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion sizes to ensure consistency and adherence to established standards.
  • Oversee inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, and coordinate with management to place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and alcohol service laws, and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Assist in controlling costs and maximizing profitability through effective cost management, portion control, and minimizing waste.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to perform at their best, recognize achievements, and address performance issues as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the restaurant industry, with a strong understanding of restaurant operations and customer service principles.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with staff, management, and guests.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and transactions.
  • Additional education or certifications in hospitality management or related field is a plus.
