Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by responding to their needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Clean and maintain all assigned areas, including patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, floors, walls, lights, vents, windows, and linen carts, in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Stock areas with paper goods, soaps, and patient supplies as needed.
  • Respond to emergency calls as directed by supervisor and department policy.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and complete all required training.
  • Stock linens on exchange carts and deliver carts to patient units.
  • Operate and maintain all powered and non-powered equipment assigned for daily cleaning.
  • Use the phone system to operate pagers and integrated software programs.
  • Complete meeting setups as directed by supervisor.
  • Collect and dispose of red and regular trash according to department and hospital guidelines.
  • Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self-development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Customer service experience or ability required; cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
