POSITION TITLE:
FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
-NUCLEAR
REPORTS TO: MANAGER
SUPERVISOR: JOEL CHELLMAN

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, modernization, and installation tasks on electric overhead traveling cranes within a nuclear facility.
  • Perform thorough onsite mechanical diagnostics to identify equipment failures and implement necessary repairs using visual inspections, testing procedures, and appropriate tools. Document findings and provide corrective recommendations to the home office, including a written Safety Summary for any observed safety issues.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Understand and apply all relevant OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, and other industry regulations, refreshing knowledge as necessary.
  • Complete service reports and other documentation accurately and professionally, submitting them promptly according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with the service office and supervisor as per established practices.
  • Ensure all company-issued equipment and vehicles are maintained in safe working order, operating tools and vehicles responsibly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including those set by the customer.
  • Keep company vehicles and uniforms clean and presentable.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or a related field, or equivalent vocational training and experience, is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
1 to 3 years of experience with overhead cranes, installations, and mechanical work is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record. Willingness to work at heights and pass background checks for access to nuclear facilities is essential. Must be available for varied overtime and travel, with an estimated travel requirement of 75-90%. Physical requirements include the ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs daily, and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. This role involves frequent climbing, balancing, and overhead reaching, with exposure to various environmental conditions.
