Position Summary:
The Cochlear Implant Specialist at Staffing Proxy will play a pivotal role in delivering extensive audiological care, with a specialization in cochlear implant technology. This position encompasses patient evaluations, determining candidacy for cochlear implants, programming, and the continuous management of patients utilizing cochlear implants.
The successful candidate will work in collaboration with Neurotology specialists, fellow audiologists, and various healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of patient care, addressing the auditory and vestibular needs of individuals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations for cochlear implant candidacy, including both aided and unaided sound-field assessments.
- Perform diagnostic testing for adult cochlear implant users, which includes intra-operative evaluations of electrode action potentials, routine impedance checks, and adjustments to MAPing.
- Administer a comprehensive array of diagnostic hearing and vestibular assessments.
- Execute specialized testing, including but not limited to videonystagmography (VNG).
- Assess the effectiveness of hearing aid usage, involving electroacoustic evaluations, functional gain measures, and real-ear measurements.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) or an equivalent qualification.
- Possession of a valid audiology license in Mississippi or the capability to secure one.
- A minimum of one year of experience in audiology, particularly with a focus on cochlear implants is preferred.
