Head Lifeguard

Job Summary:

The Weekend + Evening Head Guard is a year-round, full-time, benefits-eligible position responsible for pool and staff supervision, problem-solving, and providing assistance to the Aquatics Program Manager (APM) in ensuring the smooth operation of the MJCC pools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform regular lifeguard duties, including guarding and teaching.
• Effectively communicate with and delegate responsibilities to subordinate staff.
• Enforce pool rules and policies for both staff and members.
• Provide exceptional guest service by communicating directly with members.
• Maintain visual and auditory contact with pool users at all times while lifeguarding.
• Conduct hourly water chemical checks and ensure the pool deck is orderly and clean.
• Arrive on time and ready to work for all scheduled shifts.
• Work all holidays that fall within the normally scheduled days/hours of the position.

Qualifications:

• Current lifeguarding certification.
• Minimum of one year lifeguarding experience.
• Prior leadership experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• At least 18 years of age and available to work the entire stated full-time schedule.
