Career Opportunity: Substance Abuse Specialist

The Counseling Center is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work with patients who are struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

About the Job:

This is a full-time position requiring a 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM shift, Monday through Friday. You will be working in an Intensive Outpatient Counseling program, which provides comprehensive treatment for individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Responsibilities:
  • New patient intake and orientation
  • Conducts initial assessment of patient problems and needs and reports to clinical team to initiate treatment planning
  • Conducts individual sessions
  • Facilitates groups with patients
  • Addresses patient's concerns and helps eliminate possibility of AMA
  • Provides Case Management
  • Provides tours for prospective patients and their families as requested
  • Documentation in patient medical record
Requirements:
  • Must have one of the following: LAC, LPC, LSW or LCSW
  • Mental Health license or certification, clean and active
  • New graduates welcome
  • Experience conducting group sessions
  • Flexibility and willingness are great attributes
