Total Safety is seeking a highly skilled Rescue Technician to join their team of safety professionals. As a Rescue Technician, you will play a critical role in providing technical rescue standby for customer projects, including confined space rescue and technical rope rescue.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and Mitigate Risks: Assist in assessing potential hazards and develop effective risk mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Rescue Operations: Conduct daily job briefings with customers and workers, and perform ongoing monitoring of job conditions and equipment resources to ensure both worker and team safety.
- Equipment Maintenance: Follow handling, inspection, cleaning, and preventative maintenance guidelines for all rescue equipment to ensure it is in a constant state of readiness.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete daily ICS reports and maintain accurate inventories and documentation of all rescue-related equipment.
- Emergency Response: In the event of an accident, locate the patient, assess any injuries, package for extrication, and remove the patient from the threatening environment and turn them over to EMS for medical attention and transport.
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Experience: 40 Hour Rescue Technician certification, Confined Space Entrant/Attendant Certification, Healthcare Provider CPR, First Aid with AED, First Responder or better preferred, Haz-whopper, 4 Gas Monitor Operation Training, and Proven Proficiency in Rescue Operations.
- Skills: Ability to inspect, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on all rescue equipment, and proficiency in rescue operations.
- Work Environment: Combination of office and field/production environments, with some exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
- Travel: Travel to and from customer sites 75% of the time.
