As a Defense Attorney Lead, you will play a key role in shaping our defense litigation strategy and driving results for our clients. You will be responsible for managing a high-volume caseload, handling complex cases from inception to trial and appeals, and providing exceptional client service.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in defense litigation, with a minimum of 8 years' experience and at least 10 jury verdicts under their belt. They will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work products under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a high-volume caseload independently or with supervision from inception to trial and appeals.
  • Develop and implement defense litigation strategy and drive results for clients.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other legal documents.
  • Take depositions, make court appearances, engage in necessary motion practice and expert retention.
  • Analyze extensive medical records and other documents relevant to each action.
  • Analyze insurance policies and draft insurance coverage opinions.
  • Perform extensive legal research and jury verdict searches.
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with clients, including complying with all client guidelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in defense litigation.
  • At least 10 jury verdicts.
  • Experience defending personal injury and automobile negligence actions, including UM/UIM, PIP, and other civil actions.
  • Ability to handle high-volume clients.
  • Strong analytical mind and excellent writing and research skills.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York and United States District Court for the District of New York (NY, PA and/or CT admission is a plus).

The estimated salary for this position is $190,000 - $230,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skill set. The firm offers benefits, including health, life, short-term and long-term disability, as well as 401k, flexible work, and paid time off.
